Delicious

Here is the cover of the Djibouti cookbook. I hit the 'send' button late Sunday night to send it to the printing stages. I agonized over that silly button! Felt like I was having a baby or something. What if I forgot an ingredient? What if I missed a typo? What if people don't like it? But off to the printer's it had to go or I wouldn't have it done on time. There is a bazaar here December 11 where I'm hoping to sell a few copies. Tom will be in MN for about two days, until December 9. So the plan is for him to pick up the books and bring them here. So I had to push that darn button. But it took me an hour to do it. I kept looking at the page, looking over the recipes one more time, looking at the button again...finally I had to go to sleep and just hit 'send.' And then I couldn't sleep anyway because I realized my mom and Tom would see the first hard copies days or even weeks before I would and I was jealous and nervous.

What on earth would I be feeling if this was a novel or a non-fiction book instead of simple cookbook?! I can't imagine what published authors go through knowing they have just sent off the last version, the one that everyone will see and read and love or hate and criticize. Someday maybe I'll know that feeling. The taste I got of it on Sunday night was a mixture between thrills and vomiting. Not much unlike reaching the top of the biggest drop on a roller coaster at Valley Fair. There's nothing left to do but scream and enjoy the ride.

I love the cover (the photo, title, and subtitle)! And I can't wait to get my copy! Yay!!

And I'll get to see you cooking some of those dishes in person when we're there next year. ;)

Everything about the cover is great and I bet that goes for the inside, too. So what if there's a mistake? Only God is perfect. In fact I've heard of some women somewhere who make a mistake on purpose in their creative endeavor to prove that very point. Sorry that's so vague. The memory is dim, sometimes more than others. ;-)
